DESCRIPTION:

The RFP Bid and Proposal Writer will be responsible for a range of activities that will ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the organization. This individual will act as the RFP Specialist and will closely collaborate with all functional business units in order to develop and achieve specific and strategic goals.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

 - Execute the company’s strategic plans

- Coordinate the search for RFPs and RFQs posted on web media

- Analyze each RFP and RFQ as to its compatibility to services that the company can provide

- Compile pricing from sub-consultants and sub-contractors

- Conduct market research and analysis specific to the national, regional and local markets

- Promote the mission and values of the organization both internally and externally

- Assess operational issues in regards to competitiveness, staying current in terms of trends and innovations

- Assist in the creation of area-specific company communications

- Stay up-to-date with external and internal developments in the environment for identifying new market segments

- Assist in the development of all area-specific marketing and sales goals

- Utilize research tools such as Biddingo, RFP.ca, Merx, etc. to identify and develop potential RFP sales leads for the Sales team

- Participate in developing a process to gather continuous feedback from clients

- Assist in the execution of strategic marketing plans

- Communicate in a timely and effective manner with all key internal and external stakeholders

- Maintain and develop knowledge of products and services, act as a resource for internal and external inquiries

- Provide advanced administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient operation of all administrative processes

- Prepare and deliver reports on the success status of all RFP research and RFP sales initiatives and programs to senior management

- Facilitate all aspects of the proposal process, including project and proposal coordination and liaising with customers, insurance and legal parties

- Perform other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

 - Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related engineering field

- 10+ years experience working in business development and office management

- Working experience in the Construction industry strongly preferred

- Must be self-motivated, creative, committed and achievement-oriented

- Excellent  English written and oral communication skills

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Understanding of financial reports including budgetary guidelines and project expenditures

- Advanced proficiency in negotiation and presentation skills

- Possess strong entrepreneurial spirit and drive

- Superior interpersonal and communication skills

- Conducts all activities with the highest degree of professionalism while demonstrating business integrity, creativity and team orientation

- Ability to travel as necessary to perform required duties
