The IT Vendor Management Office (IT VMO) plays a critical role in orchestrating and maturing relationships between external technology vendors, service providers, and internal IT service owners and stakeholders. We are seeking a senior-level Consultant for a contract engagement to serve in a supporting role to the Vendor Relationship Manager(VRM), with broad knowledge across the enterprise technology landscape and strong vendor management acumen.

This senior individual contributor contractor is integral to managing the strategic technology vendors, in close partnership with Technology leadership, the Technology IT VMO, Sourcing & Procurement, Finance, and related governance teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate seasoned expertise in vendor management, including interpreting and operationalizing contract language, monitoring performance, and maintaining effective communication channels between vendors and stakeholders. The role also requires familiarity with risk management and strategic planning, helping cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence that maximizes value from vendor partnerships.

In a typical week, you will help prepare and assist in the coordination of QBR/JBP sessions for one or more Top 4 strategic vendors, synthesize performance and financial data into concise storylines for the VRM and IT leadership, follow up on actions with vendor and internal teams, and refine repeatable processes that make the VRM model more scalable. You will not own vendors end-to-end, but you will be the operational engine that keeps the VRM framework and IT VMO standards working smoothly during the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Vendor Program Support

  • Support planning, preparation, and execution of QBR and JBP initiatives for the Top 4 strategic

technology vendors.

  • Coordinate agendas, materials, data inputs, and meeting logistics, ensuring clear documentation of decisions, actions, risks, and outcomes.
  • Track execution of vendor and internal commitments, escalating risks or delays and maintaining visibility for theVRM, stakeholders, and
  • Partner with Sourcing & Procurement, Finance, PMO, and IT service owners to keep strategic initiatives on track and aligned to business priorities.

Relationship and Stakeholder Management

  • Support the VRM in serving as a key partner to internal IT service owners and vendor leadership
  • Maintain structured communication cadences across onshore and offshore resources, including status updates, issues, and escalations.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to strengthen relationships between senior stakeholders, the IT VMO, and suppliers, reinforcing trust, transparency, and alignment.
  • Collaborate closely with IT VMO, Technology Sourcing & Procurement, Finance, and PMO to align goals, processes, and workflows across departments.

Process and Governance Support

  • Provide support and organization for developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and governance standards across the IT VMO.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the VRM SOP and the standards for leading and managing the QBR/JBP framework for the Top 4 strategic
  • Drive adherence to emerging and established processes for intake, onboarding, change management, performance reviews, and issue/escalation handling.
  • Help assess where processes are overly complex or create bottlenecks, proposing targeted improvements thatincrease efficiency without sacrificing

Data, Analytics, and Reporting

  • Develop and maintain data-driven insights and analytics for Top 4 vendors, leveraging SLA performance, financial metrics, risk indicators, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Support and enhance a robust data and analytics framework, recommending accessible KPIs and metrics that enable timely, informed decision-making.
  • Build or support dashboards and reporting packs for VRM, IT leadership, Sourcing, and Finance, translating data into clear narratives and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reporting aligns with executive expectations and highlights value, risk, and trend

Risk, Compliance, and Audit Support

  • Partner with VRM, Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal to help ensure vendor activities align with policies, standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Participate in periodic reviews and audits of vendor management processes, controls, and documentation to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Support regulatory reporting and documentation, ensuring transparency and traceability of vendor-related decisions and activities.
  • Help track and follow up on risk mitigation actions, findings, and remediation plans associated with Top 4

Continuous Improvement and Automation

  • Identify repetitive or manual vendor management activities that are suitable for automation or tooling
  • Contribute to the evaluation, standardization, and streamlining of vendor management processes to reduce friction and improve consistency.
  • Propose and support implementation of process and tooling improvements that advance the maturity of the ITVMO, improve data quality, and free capacity for higher-value work.

Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent practical experience
  • Relevant professional certifications are highly desirable, such as:
  • ITIL Foundation (v3 or later)
  • Six Sigma
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certifications (e.g., PMP, PgMP)

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Advanced / Proficient understanding of enterprise technology domains, including several of the following:
    • Infrastructure, cloud, and data center services
    • Storage and compute platforms
    • Networking
    • Enterprise applications and SaaS platforms
    • IT asset management and related tooling
  • Intermediate / Competent with:
    • Configuration Management Database (CMDB) systems
    • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
    • Knowledge management systems
    • Application integration between internal systems and third-party tools to support streamlined workflows
  • Intermediate / Competent understanding of:
    • Large-scale data handling and secure operations
    • Enterprise architecture considerations and growth management within complex environments

Vendor, Commercial, and Delivery Acumen

  • Experience working in or closely with an IT VMO, procurement/sourcing, or large, multi-vendor technology
  • Strong familiarity with SOWs, MSAs, and service models such as MSP, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, including how they are applied across infrastructure and application domains.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and operationalize contract and SLA language into practical governance, processes, and measures.

Professional Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in technology program management, consulting, or a related discipline within enterprise
  • 3+ years of experience working within large complex Fortune 500 or larger companies utilizing enterprise IT shared services preferred
  • Advanced / Proficient skills using Microsoft products including but not limited to TEAMS, PowerPoint, and CoPilot
  • Proven ability to rapidly onboard into complex enterprise environments and deliver outcomes within defined engagement timelines.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with the ability to convert complex data into clear insights and
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing materials for and engaging with senior and executive
  • Continuous improvement mindset, with a track record of identifying process opportunities and contributing toautomation or tooling
