DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an AI Engineering Manager to lead a small team of senior engineers responsible for platform engineering while helping the organization evolve toward an AI native development model.
This role is hands on and execution focused. While AI adoption is a growing priority, the role today is primarily platform driven, with responsibility shifting rapidly toward AI enabled workflows, tooling, and engineering practices.
The successful candidate will balance people leadership, architectural decision making, and direct technical contribution while partnering closely with product and engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior full stack engineers, fostering accountability, ownership, and outcome driven delivery
• Establish and reinforce an AI native engineering culture, integrating AI tools into development, testing, and documentation workflows in a responsible and effective manner
• Drive platform engineering initiatives supporting secure, scalable, cloud native SaaS applications
• Remain hands on with system design, architecture reviews, and critical implementation work
• Improve developer experience by automating repetitive tasks and reducing operational toil through tooling and platform enhancements
• Apply modern architecture principles including API first design, event driven systems, and domain driven design
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and other Engineering leaders to identify AI driven platform improvements and future revenue opportunities
• Guide modernization of legacy systems and support cloud migration initiatives
• Define, track, and improve engineering performance metrics including reliability, performance, scalability, cycle time, and delivery throughput
• Provide regular status updates, risk assessment, and delivery forecasts to leadership
• Support secure development practices and ensure alignment with organizational standards and compliance requirements
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
• Seven plus years of experience in software engineering with at least two years in an engineering leadership role
• Strong hands on background in platform engineering and building cloud native SaaS applications
• Experience integrating AI tools into engineering workflows such as code generation, testing, documentation, or analysis
• Familiarity with agent assisted or agentic engineering concepts
• Experience working with AWS services such as Lambda, Fargate, and other managed cloud platforms
• Strong experience with SQL based systems such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL and data pipelines
• Experience with JavaScript based frontend frameworks such as React or Angular
• Proven ability to modernize legacy systems and evolve architecture incrementally
• Strong understanding of modern development practices including CI CD, Agile Scrum, and cross functional collaboration
• Proficiency with tools such as Jira, Git, and Confluence
• Strong architectural thinking, system design skills, and technical judgment
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across distributed teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, operate in ambiguity, and deliver measurable outcomes
