Position Summary
The Scrum Master drives Agile delivery execution, planning, governance, Scrum of Scrums coordination, and cross-functional alignment across the Canada DevOps organization. This role ensures approved business priorities, project work, customer onboarding initiatives, and strategic delivery commitments are planned, coordinated, tracked, and reported effectively.
The role works closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, Service Managers, and delivery teams to ensure transparent execution, predictable delivery, and alignment between approved priorities, cross-team dependencies, and available team capacity.
Agile Leadership
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and PI Planning activities.
- Coach teams on Agile principles, delivery best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Identify and help remove delivery impediments that impact execution.
- Promote accountability, transparency, and execution discipline across delivery teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance delivery predictability and team effectiveness.
Delivery Planning and Execution
- Coordinate delivery activities across multiple projects, onboarding initiatives, and strategic workstreams.
- Develop and maintain delivery plans, milestones, release schedules, and execution timelines.
- Track PI objectives, sprint commitments, and delivery progress against approved priorities.
- Manage cross-team dependencies and facilitate risk mitigation activities.
- Proactively identify, track, and escalate delivery risks, blockers, and dependency conflicts.
- Facilitate release readiness and deployment planning activities.
Backlog Planning and Readiness
- Ensure approved and prioritized work is prepared for execution.
- Coordinate backlog refinement activities with Product Owners and delivery teams.
- Maintain sprint and PI readiness by ensuring work items are properly defined, estimated, sequenced, and aligned to execution plans.
- Facilitate dependency identification and resolution across teams before and during execution.
- Monitor backlog health and planning readiness to support predictable delivery.
- Ensure alignment between approved priorities, team capacity, dependent workstreams, and committed delivery plans.
Capacity Planning and Demand Alignment
- Support quarterly planning and PI Planning activities.
- Maintain visibility of team capacity across projects, customer onboarding initiatives, enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify resource constraints, planning risks, and dependency-driven capacity impacts.
- Assist leadership with delivery forecasting and capacity analysis.
- Support trade-off discussions when capacity limitations or cross-team dependencies impact execution sequencing.
- Ensure execution plans remain aligned with approved business priorities and available capacity.
Scrum of Scrums and Cross-Team Dependency Coordination
- Facilitate or coordinate Scrum of Scrums sessions when multiple teams or workstreams have delivery interdependencies.
- Maintain visibility of cross-team dependencies, sequencing constraints, blockers, and required decisions across active initiatives.
- Ensure dependency owners, target dates, risks, and follow-up actions are clearly tracked and communicated.
- Coordinate dependency resolution across Product Owners, delivery teams, Service Managers, and stakeholder groups.
- Escalate unresolved cross-team dependencies or conflicting priorities through the appropriate governance forums.
- Provide consolidated dependency and execution-readiness reporting to support leadership decision-making.
Customer Onboarding Coordination
- Coordinate onboarding project activities across business and technical teams.
- Track onboarding milestones, dependencies, risks, and readiness activities.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment required for successful customer onboarding execution.
- Maintain delivery plans and status reporting for onboarding initiatives.
- Escalate onboarding risks, delays, and dependency concerns as required.
Jira Governance and Delivery Management
- Maintain delivery tracking, planning boards, dependency views, and reporting within Jira and related tools.
- Ensure delivery metrics, dashboards, and reporting remain accurate and up to date.
- Monitor execution health, blockers, aging work items, planning risks, and dependency status.
- Drive adoption of delivery standards and governance practices.
- Support continuous improvement of delivery planning, dependency tracking, and reporting processes.
Reporting and Governance
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and PI-level delivery reporting.
- Provide visibility into delivery progress, PI commitments, sprint outcomes, capacity utilization, key milestones, risks, dependencies, and customer onboarding status.
- Coordinate cross-dependency reporting across active workstreams to highlight blocked items, sequencing risks, ownership gaps, and decisions required.
- Facilitate governance forums, delivery review meetings, and Scrum of Scrums follow-up actions as needed.
- Maintain RAID logs, dependency logs, and action tracking.
- Ensure leadership has accurate and timely visibility into delivery performance, dependency health, and execution risks.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a coordination point between business stakeholders, Product Owners, Service Managers, and delivery teams.
- Facilitate alignment across multiple teams and stakeholder groups.
- Manage cross-functional dependencies and execution planning discussions.
- Ensure timely communication of delivery status, risks, decisions, dependency impacts, and changes.
- Foster strong working relationships across business and technology teams.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 7+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, Agile Project Manager, or similar delivery leadership role.
- Experience supporting enterprise application delivery teams.
- Experience operating within SAFe, Agile, or hybrid delivery frameworks.
- Proven experience facilitating PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and large-scale planning activities.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives and cross-functional dependencies.
- Experience with capacity planning, dependency management, delivery governance, and executive-level reporting.
Technical and Functional Skills
- Strong Jira administration and Agile planning expertise.
- Experience with PI Planning, roadmap planning, dependency tracking, and delivery forecasting.
- Strong capacity planning and delivery coordination skills.
- Experience creating executive-level metrics, dashboards, cross-dependency reporting, and delivery reporting.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMP or equivalent certification.
- Experience within healthcare, pharmaceutical distribution, logistics, or enterprise application environments.
- Experience coordinating delivery across global or distributed teams.

Role Focus
This is a delivery leadership role focused on the planning and execution of work that has already been approved and prioritized through the governance process. The role is expected to bring structure, discipline, transparency, and proactive coordination to execution planning, PI readiness, Scrum of Scrums facilitation, cross-team dependency management, delivery governance, and stakeholder reporting.
