🍁 Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

Thanksgiving is one of my favourite times of year because I enjoy the colourful fall leaves. I also enjoy a homecooked Thanksgiving dinner with a Caesar salad, garlic cheese bread, turkey stuffed with a summer savoury dressing, cranberry orange sauce, Yukon gold mashed potatoes, broccoli with cheese sauce, gravy, and squash pie.
I hope you will take this opportunity to walk to view the autumn colours and maybe even visit a cranberry bog and experience the cranberry harvest.
I wish to share a delicious recipe for Cranberry Orange Sauce. It is simple, full of vitamin C and will add a twist to your Thanksgiving dinner.
Cranberry Orange Sauce
- 1/4 cup of freshly squeezed orange juice
- zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1.5 cups of fresh cranberries
- 3/4 cup water
Directions
- Combine orange juice, orange zest, sugar, and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
- Stir in the cranberries and bring to a controlled boil; reduce heat and simmer until the sauce has thickened, about 15 minutes.
