☀️ Happy June 2026 🌅
We at Direct IT Recruiting would like to wish you a happy, successful, and fulfilling start to the summer.Like many months, June takes its name from Roman mythology. It is named after Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage and childbirth. While its origins are rooted in history, what makes June special today is something you can feel rather than explain.

The month of June is full of meaningful moments and celebrations.
Earlier this month, we celebrated Father’s Day, taking time to recognize and appreciate the fathers and father figures in our lives. From grandfathers to fathers to fathers-in-law, it offered a chance to pause and acknowledge the steady presence they bring.
June is also Pride Month. We hope it has been a joyful and meaningful celebration, and it has been great to see communities come together across the country.
Juneteenth, observed on June 19th in the United States, marked an important moment in history and remains a symbol of freedom, resilience, and progress.
Of course, June also brings its seasonal traditions.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs have wrapped up, with the Carolina Hurricanes capturing this year’s championship and lifting Lord Stanley’s Cup. There is always something special about this time of year, following a full summer day and settling in to watch the highest level of competition.

This summer also brings added excitement with the FIFA World Cup running from June 11 through July 19, including several matches hosted in Toronto. It is a great moment for Canada to be part of a truly global event and to see that energy brought closer to home, even if it might also mean paying $24.25 for a beer at the venue.
In many ways, building a great team is not so different. Just as championship teams bring together top talent, we at Direct IT Recruiting are always focused on connecting exceptional candidates with outstanding Canadian organizations.

As the days grew longer, we moved through the summer solstice on June 21st.
After the winter months, it is refreshing to see the sun linger well into the evening. It is a reminder to step outside and enjoy the season while it lasts.
What did you do on the longest day of the year?
For many of the clients and candidates we work with, this time of year fills up quickly. Calendars begin to fill with proms, graduations, summer barbecues, afternoons at the lake, camping trips, and the first real stretch of time after the school year wraps up.
Some are planning vacations, while others are enjoying those long evenings that seem to stretch just a little longer than expected. For some, it means taking in the beauty of our national parks, whether that means hiking, exploring, or something a little more unexpected. In Banff, Sunshine Village offers summer skiing and riding from June 20 through July 5, an event that has occurred only four times in its 75-year history.

With that extra daylight still with us, June offers a simple invitation.
Read the book you have been meaning to start
Host that barbecue
Take a walk along the water
Enjoy fresh strawberries
Find time for a concert under the open sky
Attend a webinar, keep learning, be curious
June marks the halfway point of the year. A natural moment to reflect on where things stand, and to think about what comes next. Not in a rushed way, but in a thoughtful one.
Happy June. We hope the season brings you a sense of balance, momentum, and moments worth holding onto.
We look forward to continuing to work with our valued clients and partners in the months ahead.
With gratitude and warm wishes,
Darla 🌼
