๐ Back to School ๐
Happy September, everyone! Whether youโre returning to school, getting ready for new projects kicking off or starting a new job, September is a bustling month. With the end of the calendar year soon approaching and the last quarter of the year beginning, September offers you lots of opportunities to kickstart your career.
Take the time this September to update your resume to include all your latest work experiences, skills/technologies acquired and educational qualifications. Also, highlight your achievements, as employers love to ask candidates about their accomplishments. This will help you if you want to move up in your organization or start looking for the next step in your career, as you never know when you might need a resume. If your industry has conferences, webinars or other professional events, I encourage you to attend and learn from your peers.
You should also update your LinkedIn profile to keep it current, as future employers want to see your most recent job experiences and skills. Having some depth on your LinkedIn profile can also be beneficial as it can fill in gaps in your resume or elaborate on what is already in it.
As you move into the last few months of 2024, set goals for what you want to accomplish for the rest of this year. While many people wait to set goals for themselves in January, being proactive and setting achievable goals for the rest of 2024 could help you over-accomplish.
Outside of work, September is both a beginning and an end. It marks the end of the summer but also the start of autumn. Relish natureโs colourful fireworks as the leaves change this fall, and enjoy your time outside before the snow flies.
